AYURYOGA

Ayuryoga combines the knowledge of Ayurveda with the practice of Yoga. It allows us to be an active participant in our own healing process and empowers us to reach our highest potential. Ayurveda and Yoga create a support system which allow us to make positive choices that lead us to a greater sense of balance, well-being, and peacefulness.

Ayuryoga will help to maintain balance and when needed, will pacify vata, pitta, & kapha when they become out of balance being known as ‘doshas’ in order to alleviate imbalances such as anxiety (stress), depression, arthritis, digestive disorders, high blood pressure, infertility, overweight, difficult menses, menopause, etc. We will practice sequences specific to staying in balance with the seasons and our environment.

Ayuryoga classes for topics such as agni building (strengthening of the digestive fire), moon cycle (menses), vayu breathing (breathing for the 5 subtypes of vata), weight management, etc. are addressed as well as how practices such as sun salutations, moon salutations, gentle, moderate, and vigorous forms of Yoga, effect the physical and psychological traits under which vata, pitta, and kapha are governed.

Diana also offers an Ayuryoga package which includes an assessment of the client’s prakruti (constitution) and vikruti (imbalance). This allows Diana to create a customized Yoga sequence which addresses the needs of the client.
