prepare the physical body and mind for meditation by providing

and effortless to participate in a seated meditation after having
completed "Hatha" Yoga (the physical part of the practice),
although Hatha Yoga is not a prerequisite to a still meditation.

allow a beginner to build a foundation that can be taken into
"ongoing" classes. For example, a once a week, 8 to
10 week series of "beginner" classes is usually recommended

An individual should choose an instructor that he or she feels
comfortable with. This comfort level should also apply to the
space in which the practice will take place. This space should
be safe and sacred.
